| Well I've got to say, I don't think I have ever been so happy in my whole life. Nothing particular has happened - no song of mine has just been chosen to be the theme tune to Paris Hiltons new tv show, I haven't received a surprise Brit Award for innocence ingenuity, and above me the sky is a blank white sheet, devoid of any iconic romantic inspiration. But it is a great day...and to celebrate we are holding the first Unlit of the year this Friday 12th February at Tim Varlow's house in Islington (email lee@unlitrecords.com for address). Quick one for all visual artists out there:
I am working with a really incredible designer / artist / afficionado on the new artwork and packaging for upcoming album "Set It Free".
He suggested, because of the concept of the album, it would be nice to set the album artwork free as well.

As you know, for the last 12 years I have put on UNLIT. A mixture of a gig and a party, free and open to anyone, in the last 5 years it has taken place in people's houses across America and Europe. It has been an extraordinary experience to put these nights on...to witness hundreds of beautiful performances, to meet the wonderful people that always seem to turn up to UNLIT, and to experience an amazing stream of generosity and openness...

| As a little introduction to the series of spring Unlits (which will be starting proper next saturday April 4th in the small flat I share with my friend Leila in Hackney Central) I have been asked to organise a little one-off afternoon into evening Sunday Soother of an Unlit this Sunday (29th March) in the downstairs bar of Bar Kick, in Shoreditch opposite Shoreditch church. DJ Dave Depares (expanding his skill set from film making to spinning fat tunes) will start playing tunes at 5pm, and from 6pm til 10.30pm past and new Unlit performers will be performing live music. | Went out last night to a great place on Junction Road in Archway called The Hideaway. My friend Vashti was putting on a night there in the basement bar....there was some fantastic music from past Unlit acts Sam Semple, Emit Bloch and The Mighty Roars and from Ed Sheeran, and especially from Vashti herself and her beautiful joyful band....that and the blue sky fizz in the corpuscles that accompanies the arrival of spring has made me very excited about organising some gatherings of friends new and old in houses across the capital for some intimate soirees where we may all celebrate the joy of being human....or in other words, I am going to organise some Unlits in the coming months....I was thinking of doing one a week from March 27th...., through april until say, mid may? maybe throughout the summer....mostly on fridays....what do you reckon? I woke up this morning in a state of surprise.
I pinched my arms, groped my cock, cupped my balls, rubbed my eyes,

"Good God, I must be still alive."

And I charged it all to my Mastercard, which in retrospect wasn't very clever,

Last Minute London Gig
Jont will be playing his last gig before the Orange Unlit tour TOMORROW at the North London Tavern on Kilburn High Road. Joining him on the bill is upcoming Unlit act Lawrence Of Arabia who recently toured Europe with Fiest, and past Unlit Act Rodney Fisher.
Jont is on at 8pm, and would love to see whoever can make it for a bit of a party! Tickets are £5 on the door, and the address is 375 Kilburn High Road, London, NW6 7QB.
Orange Unlit Tour
The tour is shaping up nicely! It will be taking place between August 15th and September 15th, taking Jont, Dave and some special guests through Pensance, Cornwall, Loch Ness, Totnes in Devon, Norwich, Abergavenny, Ilkley in Yorkshire, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and Dumbarton!

Hey everyone, My friend Tom is having a party to celebrate the opening his brand new studio which he has spent the last few months building on the top floor of a warehouse at the furthest eastern end of Cable St., near Limehouse, East London. It’s an amazing space and it promises to be a huge, wild and old school party - not often these days that you get a whole floor of a warehouse to play in. He’s asked me to organise a bit of Unlit style activity to happen in the live room of the studio before the party gets in to full swing. So this Saturday, around 10pm, there will be performances from Louie from the band Semaphore (who did a great set at the Soho Revue Bar earlier in the year), the fabulous poet Tim Clare who performed at the last Stoke Newington Unlit. Meanwhile this Thursday May 1st....if you live in the Bristol area, there will be double bill of Unlits in different venues, which we will be filming as an episode in the current series of THE HOUSE WE'RE IN...there are some great musicians coming to play and all as usual are welcome....info will be up on my myspace and website from Wednesday....but keep it free if you live nearby and come on down for our last out of town Unlit for a while...
And finally....get your tickets quick for The Purcell Room! My June 1st album launch gig looks like it might sell out so grab a ticket while you can from www.wegottickets.com .....would hate you to miss it!

Here it is folks! Having got 80 000 views of last weeks episode, Episode two of THE HOUSE WE'RE IN has now been posted on youtube, my myspace site and my website. Last weeks episode introduced you to the concept of the tour and recapped what we did out in the 'States in 2006. This weeks is the first proper show and sees us doing Unlit in Oxford meeting local Band Stornoway and self effacing songwriter Ben Walker, with a great crowd who were even happy to become a human drum
machine for the last song...you'll see what I mean...they did a good job too.
Other news is that "Candlelit", the single that is coming out on April 21st has been getting good play on 6music and Johnnie Walker's show on Radio Two. You can now pre-order "Candlelit" at indiestore.com, and for your money you will get two previously unreleased tracks completely free ("City Of The Sun" and "Mosque"). there are loads of vids of me playing on the video page, you can listen to the whole of the album on the music player at the mo, there will be a different free unreleased track of mine available for download each week, and also a new performance of mine from the current Unlit tour up each week in the video section.
